What are Icon wrinkle reducing treatments?

How do Icon wrinkle reducing treatments work?

Icon wrinkle reduction treatments use fractional laser technology to gently deliver heat just below the surface of the skin. The fractional laser is ideal when it comes to smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles. The heat generated by the fractional laser triggers biological processes that cause the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles to diminish considerably.

Icon wrinkle reduction treatments are not invasive, cause very little pain, and don’t require much downtime after treatment. Treatment sessions last about 30 minutes, and the typical recovery time is about four days.   

Before treatment begins, Dr. Bonnici applies a topical anesthetic and cooling gel to the treatment area. At the start of your treatment, she gives you protective goggles to shield your eyes during the session.

When your treatment session is complete, Dr. Bonnici may also give you a cold compress to apply to the treated area for a set period of time. This can help minimize swelling.  

What can I expect after my Icon wrinkle reducing treatment?

You’ll begin to see the results about four days after your initial treatment. Because the treatment stimulates the growth of new skin, you’ll notice some of your wrinkles gradually filling out while others completely disappear.

Although you’ll see results immediately after the procedure, doctors recommend receiving 3-5 treatments to achieve the best results.
